The Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn" in cooperation with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University informs that in the period from March 1 to March 3, 2021, the XI International Contest of Research Projects in Mathematics and Mechanics named after U. Dzholdasbekov was held online due to  the unstable epidemiological situation in the country.

The purpose of the competition is to improve the system and structure of the organization of research activities of students, to promote their development of knowledge in mathematics.

This year's Contest is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founder of the Kazakhstan School of Robotics, theory of mechanisms and machines, Academician Umirbek Aryslanovich Dzholdasbekov. At the opening of the contest, a delegation of academicians, professors headed by the rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebayev, paid tribute to the memory of the life and work of U. A. Dzholdasbekov and laid flowers at his monument.

In addition, the director of the RSPC "Daryn" Akzhol Boranbay addressed the participants of the international contest with a welcoming speech.

The contest was attended by 218 students from 166 countries Turkey, Indonesia, France, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and all regions of Kazakhstan. Participants of the contest in the areas of mathematics, applied mathematics, mechanics and mathematical methods in economics, in accordance with the regulations of the competition, defended their projects on the platform www.webinar.daryn.kz. In order to ensure the transparency of the work of the sections on the protection of students ' projects, a live broadcast was held on YouTube channels.

The jury consisted of young scientists and teachers of the Al-Farabi Kazakh national University, headed by the Dean of faculty of mechanics and mathematics by D. B. Zhakebaev..

In accordance with the Rules of the competition, the winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan I, II, III degrees, gold, silver and bronze medals for 45% of the total number of students. Of these, 18 students with 15 projects received first – degree diplomas, 31 students with 25 projects received second – degree diplomas, and 49 students with 34 projects received third-degree diplomas. Certificates for special achievements were awarded to 16 participants. All participants of the final stage will be awarded with electronic certificates. (Diplomas and medals will be delivered to their localities with the help of the Kazpost service).

The opening ceremony of the contest and the awarding of the winners and prize-winners was held on the ZOOM platform in accordance with the program and was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook channels.
